I got the same as athos. Cult Movie. As long as my movie is Big Lebowski and not Rocky Horry Picture Show it's alright with me.

Yeah, but Rocky Horror is a true 'cult' movie. There are just a few that have an emotional attachment to it. And there are a few that have raised it to a status not inline with how good it is.

The Big Lebowski is just a movie that people have found was good after not making it in the theatres.

I believe The Big Lebowski is a legitimate Cult film. A small group of people actually gather around and bowl and dress as the charaters. There's also a something called "Lebowski Fest" which I wouldn't mind checking out. But I see what your saying. It seems like anything that wasn't a hit but later down the road becomes a hit on dvd is instantly considered "Cult". For instance it stated Being John Malkovich. What? Who has conventions centered around that film? Do they stand around in a 7 1/2 floor? Are loads of people gathering and dressing like Craig and Lotte Schwartz? Weird. It's a good movie that didn't do well and is well known now... but far from a cult film.
