Long time no see! I am making my way through the 14th year of this blog in slow motion. Perhaps I'll finally write those reviews of movies that I have seen. There's a few, but I am lazy and haven't bothered.
Anyway this blog isn't shuttered just yet. Still meaning to post things. I guess I'll try with something interesting in the idol world.
It's Sally! Read up on this American doing idol things as an anime voice actress in Japan. Anime! It's kooky!!

Hey, man. I sent you to Nogizaka46's site a few days too early. You had to read Ikoma's graduation blog post through a machine translation tool either Google or Bing. (When was the day when I ever had considered MicroSoft the lesser of two evils?) Well, go back there today and you will find that they'll do it for you inline. No need to let Google track your habits any more, unless they're the ones behind the translation. Then it's no fun for anyone.

Ikoma Rina has announced her graduation from Nogizaka46. I first read rumors yesterday morning and had to wait for Japan to wake up in order to get the official announcement. Today's link is straight from Ikoma herself. She's moving on, but she'll still do entertainment. I'm hoping that to see her have a stellar career.
Idol graduations are inevitable. They still are surprising though.

Look it that. You're lucky. It's another Link of the Day to another idol. Enough with Sally. Here's the real cutie: Nishino Nanase!
The Ace of Nogizaka46. The only member who can really make me leave Ikuchan and oshihen to. So in love with her.
Here she starred in a movie released last month. Let's read about her because the more Nishino you get in your life the better.
Nanase is life.

Sally's now available in the US iTunes store. You won't have to get that account on the iTunes store Japan. But if you bought yesterday's music then you already did. Sorry.
Anyhow, please buy in order to support bringing more cute Japanese idols to America. Or at least outside Japan.

Link of the Day [9.30.17]
They gave us Sally. #天城サリー 22/7
If you don't know, then you don't know.
It's an idol anime group in which one of the members blew up fandom because she was born in America. Ans she sounds American. But the thing is that on her SHOWROOM you can really talk to her. In fact she answered my question which is the first time in any of the idol SHOWROOMs that I've watched that that happened. Because she understands English. Also, she's cute AF.
Anyway, today's link takes you to the group she's a part of. Get to know them.

Link of the Day [9.22.17]
I had usually let my off Fridays be the days I watch a movie. If I was in Japan, I know what I would be watching... Asuhinagu 「あさひなぐ」。 A film featuring members of Nogizaka46. It's related to a manga of the same name about a naginata club and the girls who practice it.
Nishino plays the lead. Shiraishi is the beautiful senpai. Ikuta is their rival.
They also had it as a stage play this summer. Perhaps a different story, and it had different Nogizaka members.
Anyway I haven't seen it yet. But I'll give it 5 of 5 stars because of Nogi members!

Link of the Day [9.20.17]
Continuing.
It's easy as a fan of classic films to watch them now -- what with streaming and niche DVD makers. It's not so easy to become a fan of classic films because there's not one place to start. Maybe TCM. Yes.

Link of the Day [9.19.17]
Movies are dying. No one goes to the theatre. We like to stay home and watch on our streaming service. But we are only watching the new stuff. Classic films are already dead, but they are dying a second time. Not too many movie watchers want to watch something from the 70s let alone the 40s. Not too many streaming sites want to carry these old films.
Is there nothing to be done? All we can do is lament their passing. Long live classic films.

I wash watching Nogizaka's 3rd Gen closing out Tokyo Idol Festival 2017 on YouTube when word came out that our beloved Himetan, Nakamoto Himeka, announced her graduation. Fudge. It ruined the show.
Himetan! Nooo! I hope it wasn't because of health reasons. And I hope it wasn't because she didn't make senbatsu for the 18th single. But why? I am sad. Now we don't have 46...

Fucking finally.
I blame Google for keeping it alive. But I'm sure some dude is going to keep it going. Fuck those guys. And fuck Google for keeping it alive. THppppttt on Android for pretending to.
Adobe, let me know where you bury it so that I can merrily dance on the grave!
Again, I blame Google.

AKB48 opened there ticket booth to international fans. It's not like I'm buying anytime soon, but it's nice to know that you can at least try to get tickets. The mother ship, AKB Theatre, is probably a tough buy. I would try for one of the sister groups out in the sticks, perhaps NGT48's or HKT48's theaters in Niigita or Fukuoka respectively.
Maybe I'll try on my trip to Japan...

Have you thought about the best movies of the 21st century? We're only 17 years in, but there have been many, many good ones. Run a search for "5 of 5 stars" on BrowserMetrics and you'll find a few.
CatWoman? How'd that get in here. Never mind. Ignore my 5 star ratings and find some on your own.
Anyhow, they are still making lots of good movies, you have to go out a seek them. Today's link should help you find a few.

It's a 13 hour time difference between here and Japan. Here being the east coast of the United States. So you'll have some Nogizaka goodness for breakfast as you watch two members promote their latest album on SHOWROOM. You just have to get up real early!
If you participate, don't forget to throw some stars!!
And don't forget to wish Nishino a happy birthday! 「お誕生日おめでとう西野七瀬！」

Nogizaka46 3rd Album, 「生まれてから初めて見た夢 」, "The Dream I Saw the First Time Since I Was Born."
Get it.
Got it.
I don't think the new songs are as good as their first two albums. The songs sound too much alike. The only saving grace is that there are some funky units, member pairings, that make for some interesting songs. I'm always up for alternative member units.
