One month ago, it was Valentine's Day. In Japan, it's the girls who give chocolates to the guys. So, for payback, there's today, White Day, when the guy gives candy to the girls who gave them chocolates. Oh, how interesting the Japanese are. Now, it would be nice to receive chocolates from a girl. You wouldn't have to worry about if a girl likes you. She'll just give you chocolate as a way to show her interest. At least, that's what happens in manga. Then you're in like slim.

I actually like the short period of playfulness of not knowing if a girl digs you or not. Most of the time they are just as scared as you. At the same time I don't like when things drag out. Just say what you feel and let it go from there. It either lives or dies in that moment. They either dig you or they don't. It's that simple. The relationship may not work out later or whatever, but at least you got the initial launch out of the way. Wear your heart on the sleeve and just see what happens. I have had quite a bit of rejection in my life but it never bothers me one bit. In fact it just made me stronger as an individual.
Woah. That was long winded.
Anyways... Worrying about whether someone likes you or not comes down to communication. If you're not sure then there's no communication. I would get anxious waiting around for chocolate. Heh. But that's just me.
Oh, is there a translation for that link. It's just garbled alien Predator wristwatch stuff. Well I do know where "home" is. =)
What's so amazing about White Day is that it highlights Valentines Day in Japan. THE GIRL GIVES THE CHOCOLATE! THE GIRL GIVES THE CHOCOLATE! As a showing of some kind of affection.
I also highlight White Day, because then it's obligatory to return those affections. Just so. It's easy with these conventions. It would be easy to know when.
"Now, it would be nice to receive chocolates from a girl. You wouldn't have to worry about if a girl likes you. She'll just give you chocolate as a way to show her interest. At least, that's what happens in manga. Then you're in like slim"
I also commented on why I like giving the chocolate as opposed to the Japanese way. I'd be anxious. That's all.
Just an observation. That's all. Just shooting the shit. It makes you realize how depressing it can get for a girl who waits for chocolate. So I just wanted to say why wait? That's all.
What is cool is that the onus is on the girl. Or not cool, but let's you not worry too much. Especially if you aren't the type to go about and ask. At least you know that she's interested. That's all you need. The opening. SHe''s interested. Here's chocolate. Let's talk.
I wonder how many absentees are on that day? The kids that know they'll not get chocolate probably prefer to skip. They'd skip rather than be reminded they are invisible. In the Manga world one dude would be receiving all the chocolate. The opposite could also happen, everyone would be receiving chocolate except for one. The Manga would be called "Chocolate Covered Coolness". The title would refer to the main character who gets all the chocolate. Or it can relate to the character who never gets the chocolate. He tries to hide his dismay by a fake layer of coolness. Fake happy smiles on the outside, but sour on the inside. Heh.
We want to be gratified. That's why this is so amazing. The roles are reversed. I can no longer be the loser exxcept that I don't get any chocolate.
buzz buzz. ;-P
>_<
His "super power" would be the science of sweets and tastes. The whole thing would be about the girls trying to come up with the right mixture to get their dream dates. So one day in science class during a lab, a girl, Ume, asks the boy, Minoru, what he can do with chocolate for the boy she pursues. Minoru then gets a flood of girls when one of his concoctions work on for Ume's situation. So Minoru befriends Ume as they hatch a plan to help all the girls get the man of their dreams with the matching tastes of each male character. For instance one girl is into this one kid, so Minoru and Ume investigate the kid to see what he is like to figure out what his chocolate would be. This kid is a fast talking video game freak. Just a jittery super chatty fellow. So what they decide is to make macadamia light chocolate with a hint of mint to cool the boy down. It counter his jittery personality.
Each episode could be about Minoru and Ume's investigation of each kids world and the girl that is pursuing said boy. Obviously it would also help out Minoru become a stronger person as an individual and slowly gain the affection of his friend Ume or someone else. I'd don't know how to take that story.
But I don't know it could be fun. It would be neat to come up with weird chocolate favors that counter some boys life. Maybe one of them becomes a disaster due the chocolate changing some kids personality completely. Heh. That would be fun. Then there's the whole boy gives chocolate back to girl angle... like a "please stop chasing me your driving me nuts" chocolate. Heh.
I would definitely say it's got elements of The Waitress though. I don't know why you guys are knocking it. I think it could be fun thing to write. I'm going to do some research on chocolates. It's going to be the best thing ever!
Now if they had chocolate battles or the dude is trying to make the ultimate love chocolate, then you may have something.
I can't believe you of all people are calling this idea cheesy.
but those things will come at chapter 7. chapter 1 to 6 will be plain enjoyment on just creating that chocolate. (ok seed, now u got me thinking)
Oh and since I'm Americanizing this, I guess I have to change one of the names. I may keep the girl Japanese. That's how the kids at school will adopt the Japanese tradition.
