No words. My father was from there. Perhaps I still have some family out there. Hope for the best.

Quote of the Day [9.01.13]

Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

This kind of scares me: ruthless striving for efficiency causes complexity. Here's anecdotal evidence from the banking industry. The pursuit of efficiency doesn't make things simple at all. I wonder if this is a type of paradox that has yet to be named. I wonder if my bank works the same way. Most likely, it does, and I am kind of scared.

Well is it over? The world, I mean. Has the apocalypse come? And if it has when's it leaving. Soon I hope so that we can all get back to Christmas.

The world doesn't end. It will keep going and going long after we humans are gone. Then it will burn up in the expansion of the solar shell, burnt up in a fireball for all we care. Yes, I did contradict myself. Who cares? It will be over anyway.

Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.

You've only got a few days until the end of the world. What will you do?

How convenient then that they have the same digits as today!

It's the end of the world!

Not to make too light of the serious situation that is Post-Tropical Cyclone Sandy, but listening to this awesome cover of Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" by the girl group zepperalla rocks. Who knew that Robert Plant would sound decent as a girl? Of course his banshee screams sound like they do come from a girl.

The song's also a good reminder to be careful out there. What may look to be calm could be dangerous with downed trees, downed wires, and high water. Be smart. Be safe.

She's gonna be here in a little short of 12 hours. Stay safe. Stay secure.

Of course, I just got home from work!

Whoops.

Just throwing left over ham into a frying pan with some vegetables doesn't mean it is really a stir fry. Especially, if you don't even bother to have rice as well. It's just fried ham with vegetables. Don't do this again.

I just took some ham and chopped it up into little pieces. Heated up the frying pan with some oil and the rest of my roasted garlic spread. Threw in some frozen vegetables. And that's all I am calling my ham stir fry.

Once again don't do this again.

Google changed up Reader and I am unhappy.

I've been using Reader for a long time now. It is the only Google app I use. The only Google app I think is fine. They went and changed it so that it fits into their Google+ strategy and it has become a chore to use.

At work on IE, it keeps wanting to have me switch to Chrome. On IE, it looks like crap. At home on Camino, it doesn't get any better. It still looks like crap. On Safari, it still looks like crap.

At least its mobile interface hasn't changed.

I make do with what I've got as an RSS reader app, but I'm gonna have to change out if it gets any worse.

In my Google Reader (the only google app I truly use day-to-day), I've got the political feeds set up to be the first thing launched. Basically, I use Reader to read political blogs. I get most of my political information from blogs, because our news industry is broken. They are not newsmen but entertainers. There is no more reporting but entertainment. You wonder why we're stupid. It starts with our press. We've given up on informing. We'd rather entertain. It's become trivial and this makes the world susceptible to assfucks such as Palin, Bachman, the GOP and the Tea Party. It leads us to fucktard presidents. When we are uninformed, we make these bad decisions. Of course, sometimes people are just plain stupid.

I'm sure you've already heard about the earthquake on the East Coast.

I was down in the basement lab and thought it was just construction until the floor began to quake. Then my stomach felt funny .

Everyone was looking at each other on the first shake. Then we got up and left immediately on the continuous second shake. Just a very eventful day.

I survived!

Go to CamdenChat.com to commiserate with fellow Orioles fans on how bad our home team is. This team is worst than they were last year. It's hard to say that, but it's true.

Now here's a product I can get behind! Beer! It's what's in my hand. Not really but beer is always good. And sharing with a young hottie is even better.

Once again, buy things based on the hotness of the girl in the commercial. So run, don't walk or drive to your local bar and drink, drink, drink all the beer you can. It doesn't have to be a Heineken.

Dear Kami-sama,

Get us out of this infinite loop! Help!

BrowserMetrics

PS. We're into the fourth week of this story arc. I loved it the first to times. The third time last week. Not so much. It's gonna repeat again? Yikes! Haruhi-sama, please stop! Kyon-kun's gonna agree to go out on a date with you. I'll do the same, if you'll just make it stop!
